TRAVEL INFORMATION

CLIMATE

Colombia has a tropical climate.
The climate in Bogotá (2,640 m / 8,660 ft) is cool and mild, with temperatures around 9-19°C (48–66°F).
June is a transitional month between the first rainy season (March–May) and the drier period starting in July: expect occasional showers, especially in the afternoons.

We recommend travelers to pack light, bring breathable clothing, but also a rain jacket or compact umbrella.

SECURITY

While in Bogotá, we advise taking extra precautions and staying mindful of security recommendations: reports indicate an increase in common crimes, such as theft and robberies, particularly targeting visitors.

Criminals often focus on hand luggage, wallets, and travel documents, especially at El Dorado International Airport.

Avoid leaving belongings unattended (including at conference venues) and refrain from carrying or displaying valuables, including jewellery, cash, and electronic devices.
